Hi to all! Any recommendations for a practitioner in NY specializing in Native herbs?

I'm looking foe someone in the tri-state area who can make extracts from Native herbs. I have the formulas written out from my previous herbalist in London (can't ship alcohol-based items here!) so I really just need someone to make them up for me,recommend dosage adjustments, prescribe new herbs, essentially take me on as a new client! Thanks in advance for your help with this.

yogi tea and vivid dreams

I started drinking the yogi bedtime tea 3 nights ago and for 3 nights now I have had the most vivid and strange dreams I have had in a long time. they feel real, as if they could become lucid dreams. in fact, I feel like during the first dream I had a hunch I was dreaming. they are strange but they don't feel like nightmares. there is sadness in them but it isn't despair. I'm bothered by last nights dream. in it, a woman I know and look up too, but am not really close to, is shot and killed. I'm incredibly saddened by this in the dream.
the tea has a lot of valerian and passion flower and some st. johns wort, skullcap,chamomile, lavendar, cinnamon among others.
what is your experience with this? I'm worried that it is a prophetic dream about this woman. do these herbs induce prophetic dreams or just vivid dreams?
thanks for your time

Hi everyone... can anyone tell me which herbs are good for fighting a cold? And what is the best medium for taking them? I'm starting to get one. Not really bad yet, but I should act now if I want to keep it from blowing up.

Smoking Herbs?

Hi Everyone,

I was looking back at past posts here and noticed a thread about smoking various herbs. I had no idea that you could smoke anything other than tobacco or cannabis. Of course the idea makes complete sense. Why wouldn't one be able to smoke other types of herbs? Does anyone have a resource where I could find more information on this subject? Which herbs are safe to smoke and why would one choose this method over infusions or capsules? Thanks!

Hello!

Has anyone developed or experimented with a psylocibe kombucha recipe?

I would love to hear of your experiences with this!

One imagines that the introduction of the psylocibes would occur during the bottling phase... or would it?

What have you encountered?

hi, does anyone have much experience with this? normally when i get my end product, i strain off the top part to get rid of the impurities that settle at the bottom, ...with burdock root i have a feeling that alot of the mucilage properties may be in the large amount of cloudy matter that settles to the bottom...should this be strained out, or included?

A Question About herbal Vinegars

Hey guys, I just saw this lovely cideo on YouTube all about making Herbal Vinegars/ Yellow Dock Vinegar in particular:

* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fB5mFuRjkEY

However, it raised a number of questions I thought I would raise here. Now, I e-mailed the folks at HerbMentor.Com, but...they seem to view Herbalism as a money-making venture and generally don't seem to want to answer questions unless by literal subscribers 9as in money is required) on their website's Forum:

* Why would I not want to use white distilled vinegar when making an herbal vinegar? That's the only kind I'm really familiar with; I use it as a hair rinse every month or so (yes, guys should always use a hair-rinse, too! *G*), or as an ingredient in a homemade salad dressing when emulsified with an oil. Would there be a reaction with the vinegar and a metal lid?
* Why, when making an herbal vinegar, should one use only a plastic lid instead of a metal lid, such as those that come with standard canning-type jars that are so readily available?

And, perhaps more importantly:

* Would a simple vinegar infusion be able to extract the minerals from a root? I was always under the impression (and i can't remember WHERE I read this) that vegetational minerals are so much like "rocks" that to extract them really requires a decoction process in boiling water. Was I mistaken? if a decoction is not necessary, than how is a vinegar (or even an alcohol, like vodka) able to fully extract the nutrients and minerals contained within roots?

Can tinctures go wrong?

I have been quite successful with tinctures for quite some time. But whenever I try to make st johns wort tincture lately it seems really cloudy, not the brilliant red that i am used to. I used fresh these times. Is it still ok to use when it is cloudy like that? Also has happened to my lemon balm tincture in which it doesn't smell right. I usually use part rum and part water as I do not like the sharp taste of vodka.

thanks for any assistance to this issue! i am very grateful for a place in which i can come and get advice from other fellow herbalists!

Blessings

The Liver & The Doctrine of Signatures!

For a long time I have known of the beneficial effects of dandelion on maintaining a healthy liver, allieviating liver spots, as well as ensuring it's performing at its optomine health and purifying the blood, etc. However, I was thumbing through an old copy of the "Reader's Digest Family Guide to Natural Medicine" (our Library was having a book sale this week) which has led me, more and more, to accept the earlier belief in Herbal Medicine of the Doctrine of Signatures. Two other infamous herbs that are potent in healing the liver is tumeric and goldenseal--both of which are well known for deep yellow dye. I distinctly remember, when I was little, a juvenile game that we would play with each other entailed asking someone if they liked butter, and then affirming that fact my smearing their arm with a stain from yellow dandelion blossoms. Indeed, anyone aware of disorders in the liver will note that such a sign is usually predicated by a jaundiced, or yellow, complexion. Heck, even a Hawthorne Berry Tintcure yields a red hue, which is interesting when one takes into accounts the health benefits rendered to the cardiovascular system by this symple tonic. Here is another fascinating article on using herbs to maintain liver health: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0820/is_n228/ai_18523882/

Legalize Hemp and Cannabis in California

Hi Family,

The kind herb is not a threat to society.

Right now there are two competing signature drives to put Cannabis legalization initiatives on the ballot in California in

November 2010.

One is found at www.taxcannabis2010.org

The other is found at www.CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org

Please look carefully at the text of both laws (the text of each is finalized) and make up your own mind which one you support.

I am supporting www.CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org because our law will protect Cannabis users from discrimination in

healthcare, employment, and housing. It is a full legalization measure for industrial hemp and recreational cannabis which will restore full human rights to Hemp farmers and Cannabis users all across California. Of course supplying Cannabis to children will remain illegal just as it is today. Driving vehicles under the influence will remain illegal just as it is today. Cannabis users will still be fired from their jobs if they show up to work impaired.

There are two parts to our plan. The first part is to publicly post and personally distribute our "Freedom Lover's Call to Arms" in order to recruit volunteers. This document is available here-

www.imgur.com/dbU83

The second part of our plan is to ask everyone who volunteers to make a pledge for how many signatures they can collect in

the next 30 days or so. 15-30 signatures is a good number. If enough volunteers show this level of commitment we can succeed. You can probably get that number from your family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors without having to solicit in public too much. This is an "out of the closet" movement. We will have to proudly advocate human rights for responsible, honest, hard-working Cannabis smokers in order to convince legitimate people to support us. I can supply stickers equivalent to each persons pledge number. These stickers can be used to generate interest and be given to voters who sign the petition. Here is the sticker design-

www.imgur.com/2cjvb

Feel free to distribute and use these images. Just don't copyright them.

We have 145 days in order to get the number of signatures that we need. Our petition is hot off the press on 9/11 and we

have started collecting the first signatures yesterday 9/12.

We are polling 56% public support for Cannabis legalization in California which menas that this is an initiative which is not doomed. Its time has finally arrived; we are at the tipping point right now. Now is the time to do this and to do it right. We may only get one chance. If a law which is not exactly what we want is implemented then we may lose our critical mass and our ability to set it right.

I believe that less adults will smoke cannabis after it is legal. This is the case in the Netherlands where it has been

available over-the-counter for 30 years yet only half as many citizens (percentage-wise) smoke as do citizens here. My economics professor has taught for years that prohibition has not succeeded in decreasing usage by increasing penalties. Instead it has destroyed lives and families without substantial benefit to society. After legalization hard-drug usage will decrease due to a "separation of the markets," a decline in the price of Cannabis relative to hard-drugs, and the restoration of honesty and common sense in drug education. Violence, thievery, and the incarceration of honest people will decrease as well. I also believe that a well regulated market will decrease the availability and appeal of cannabis to children. In fact teenage Cannabis use in California has fallen steadily since the passage of Proposition 215. Furthermore the adults who smoke Cannabis after legalization will be better able appreciate the majesty of nature in peace and unity without learning to fear and disrespect authority figures. This will be better for their spirits and better for society. Finally the human rights of legitimate medical Cannabis patients will be better protected than they are today. Legalizing Cannabis will create a safer, healthier, and more humane California for us all to live in.

If you want to help us in any way please contact the CCI campaign at www.CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org or write me at

deep_space_underground@yahoo.com I give you my encouragement to modify this message if necessary and distribute it to anyone who might help on any forum or by any mechanism.

Love,
-Fully Committed

Making Homemade Shaving Cream?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has ever found a book discussing how commercial-like shaving creams can be easily made at home? I'm talking about the sort that you can squirt out of a bottle like a gel and lathers up very slightly. You see, I'd like to make both my brother and my dad some homemade lavender shaving cream: my brother's birthday and father's day both occur in June. I figured it would be a great gift for them both. hell, I can't imagine any man (regardless of which direction he "swings") who wouldn't get even mildly aroused by the beautiful scent of lavender--it's like a really awesome cologne to me (somewhat like "Eternity"). 'Course, I prefer Provencal lavender, myself. This is another reason why, to me, I associate lavender with love spells of a more intimate nature. :o) Ah...l'amour!

Take care,
Wade

Would like to share a bit of good news and family pride. This is a link to a documentary clip for a film that features my cousin's son, Sebastien, who is beginning to learn the medicine ways of his people and land. It features Seb and Cree Elder /Healer Marc Thompson. The film was produced by Seb's girlfriend Carolyn Monnet and recently won an award at the Aboriginal Film Festival for 2009. It is primarily in French and Cree with a little English, but enough for you to get the gist of it.

We are so proud of our young ones...~when they decide to do good...they really do good! : ))

Liniment Thickening Agenbts?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone, here, could suggest (and even offer some substantiation, either through literature, for example) via tried-and-true methods for thickening up an alcohol-based liniment, like one finds Purell? When my Lemon Balm has matured this summer (it SHOULD be mature by May sometime, though it seems to be growing very slowly, albeit's in a pot outside during the day, and I pull it inside when evening falls) I was planning on making it into a liniment (as well as a cheesecake, etc.!) for my leg muscles, because I walk and job to stay fit (well, I'm trying, anyway). So, I'd like to produce a liniment that has a body and structure, so that when I pour it into my hands it wont run through my fingers and get on everything, etc. Ya' know what I mean? Sadly, Purell doesn't list what they use to thicken up their wonderful product!

Take Heart With Hawthorne!!!

[Hey guys, considering that one's heart-health is so important, and that heart-disease is the #1 killer in the US. among men and women, I thought it only appropriate to post this fabulous article by renowned Herbalist, Susan Weed! Some other equally brlliant sources that recommend Hawthorne for ensuring a healthy heart is: "The Earthwise Herbal", by Matthew Wood; "Rational Phytotherapy: A Physician's Guide to Herbal Medicine" [Fourth Edn.], by Schults, Hansel & Tyler; "Rodale's Illustrated Encyclopedia of Herbs"; and "A Druid's Herbal of Sacred Tree Medicine". And, another article on-line also addresses hawthorne's heart-beneficial ituents: http://www.herbcompanion.com/health/15-herbs-to-save-money-on-medical-bills.aspx\?page=3#Hawthorn Garlic also aids the cardiovascular system. So, share these articles with those you love, and add hawthorne to your diets. Sadly, many very basic Medicinal Herbals strongly advice against using any cardio-active herbs, especially Hawthorne; though there are certain herbs that can be harmful to the heart, such as Foxglove and Lily-of-the-valley. Hawthorne takes somewhere between 45-55 days before effecacy is seen, and it grows from that point on, even making all forms of exercise more tollerable, etc. and will even directly aid a damaged heart to pump blood more effortlessly. It also seems to lessen the risk of stroke. Hmmmm...given it's beneficial effects on blood circulation, one wonders how beneficial it might be for male sexual health and erectile function?]:

TAKE HEART FROM HAWTHORNE
By: Susan Weed
http://www.susunweed.com/herbal_ezine/November08/healingwise.htm

Hawthorn is the tree of May. Its many common names include whitethorn, hagthorn, ladies' meat, quickthorn, maytree, and mayblossom. Its magic and medicine are ancient and memorable. From the earliest records, hawthorn is one of the sacred trees. Hawthorn is the sixth tree of the Ogam cycle, Hath. Hath precedes Quer, the oak, center tree of the cycle of thirteen. Hawthorn is said to guard the hinges and to oversee crafts. A branch of flowering hawthorn placed in studio or workshop is believed to make the craftsperson skilled and successful. Hath shuts what is open and opens what is shut. Her magic, like her medicinal effect, is slow but long lasting.

The day of the fairies' return is not a calendar date, but, according to Ellen Everet Hopman, author of Tree Medicine, Tree Magic, "the day the hawthorn blooms." As the fairy gates open this May, open your heart to hawthorn. Let its beauty and strength imbue you with great heart, for hawthorn is the herb of healthy hearts.

Hawthorn (Cratageus) is notable for its long thorns and bright red haws (apple-like berries). The thorns may be used as needles; and hedges of thorny hawthorn grow quickly enough to keep even goats at bay. The tasty crimson haws - called cuckoo's beads, chucky cheese, and pixie pears - are fermented into wine or baked into little cakes to celebrate the new May.

The leaves, flowers, and ripe berries of Cratageus oxyacantha taste great and are easily consumed in teas, infusions, and tinctures. Consistent, long-term use of hawthorn is especially recommended for ageing hearts, weak hearts, damaged hearts, and those with hypertension, angina, arrhythmia, heart valve disease, or Reynaud's disease (arterial spasms).

Regular use of hawthorn can:

* Lower blood pressure
* Increase the effectiveness of the heart's pumping action
* Strengthen the heart muscle
* Slow the heartbeat
* Dilate coronary arteries
* Prevent heart disease, heart attack, and stroke
* Help those healing from heart surgery
* Support the immune system
* Increase longevity

The German Commission E - a scientific body which determines the effectiveness of herbal medicines - recommends tea or tincture of hawthorn for:

* Cardiac insufficiency corresponding to stages I and II of the NYHA
* Feelings of pressure and tightness in the cardiac region
* The ageing heart not yet requiring digitalis
* Mild bradyarrhythmia
* Increasing coronary and myocardial circulation

There are no contraindications and no overdose of hawthorn. It is safe to take with any other medicine, including other heart medicines. (Though it is redundant to take blood pressure medicine after taking hawthorn for three months.)

Hawthorn is a member of the rose family, and thus closely related to rose hips, apples, cherries, apricots, and almonds. Hawthorn tea is typically made by steeping two teaspoonfuls of dried leaves and flowers in a cup of boiling water for twenty minutes. Hawthorn infusion is made by steeping one ounce of dried flowers and leaves or one ounce of dried haws in a quart of boiling water for at least four hours. I make hawthorn tincture by soaking dried hawthorn haws in 100 proof vodka for at least six months, or until it turns quite red.

A dose is a cup of tea, half a cup of infusion, or a dropperful of tincture, taken first thing in the morning and last thing at night. For the first three months of use, a third dose, midday, may be added. Traditional European herbalists always add a big spoon of honey to hawthorn tea or infusion. They believe that sweetness heals the heart.

Hawthorn's ability to slowly lower blood pressure is well documented, although the mechanism of its action is unclear. Hawthorn does not block calcium channels nor is it a diuretic. In fact, it is highly regarded as a safe way to lower blood pressure when the patient is diabetic or has kidney disease. An injectable preparation of hawthorn was widely used in modern medicine prior to the introduction of blood pressure drugs and heart-valve surgery. It is still available in Germany.

The elder Rodale wrote of his heart and its response to hawthorn in Organic Gardening in the mid-50s. His editorials praising his renewed health and vigor stand as a modern-day testament to an age-old herb.

The leaves, flower buds, flowers, and berries/haws of the hawthorn are all rich in anti-oxidant flavonoids. Flavonoids benefit the heart and blood vessels in many ways. Their powerful anti-inflammatory effects relax the blood vessels. Their anti-microbial actions stop low-level infections like those associated with gum disease from harming the heart. And flavonoids support healthy functioning of the immune system and the liver. No wonder hawthorn is the herb of longevity in stories and tales!

In addition to flavonoids, hawthorn is rich in minerals, and contains a small amount of the active principle oligomeric procyanidine (1-epicatechol). Numerous scientific authors have scratched their heads in amazement that hawthorn can have any helpful effect since it has no harmful effect. Pharmacological studies of it constituents evidence "no objectively assessable results." There just isn't enough "active ingredient" to account for its observable actions. But herbalists understand that the magic of hawthorn is in the sum of the parts, not in one active principle.

The nutrients in hawthorn assist its active ingredient so that the heart and circulatory system are slowly and deeply healed on multiple levels. Hawthorn carries its magnesium and calcium directly to the heart muscles, enhancing their ability to contract and increasing available oxygen. This beneficial effect extends into the coronary blood vessels as well. Hawthorn is unique in its ability to strengthen the weak heart and carry the old heart into a healthy future.

Hawthorn works thoroughly, dependably, and slowly. Consistent use of the remedy is required for benefits to accrue. But, once gained, improvement persists. I take hawthorn berry tincture several times a week to keep my 60-plus-year-old heart in great shape.

There's magic and medicine in the tree of May, hawthorn. Take some home for yourself today.

A Fabulous Supplier!!!

Hey guys, I just checked my post office box this week when I found a fabulously inexpensive resource for pure (undiluted) essential oils for use in ritual oils and incenses, etc.! It's from a co. called "Monterey Bay Spice Company" at Santa Cruz, CA. [http://www.herbco.com]. Nowhere before have I encountered such a reasonably priced selection of EOs! Definately send your business their way!!! I mean, the quantities are frakkin' HUGE! *G* Even their herbs are fabulously affordible--you can buy 4 oz. for what you would usually buy for the price of one! According to Monterey Bay, the principle reasons (among many) for the enormous prices commanded by many popularly available EO suppliers is because of the brand name, as well as the testing that's fone into the product, as well. Here's a selection of what they offer compared to other suppliers whom I have delt with before:

* Anise e.o. = #3.00/1 oz.
* Benzoin e.o. $3.50/1 oz.
* Camphor e.o (White) = $3.00/1 oz.
* Cassia bark e.o. = $5.00/1 oz.
* Cedarwood e.o. (a form of juniper, unless the Cedrus spp.) = $3.00/ 1 oz.
* Cinnamon leaf e.o. = $3.00/1 oz.
* Clove bud e.o. = $4.00/1 oz.
* Cypress e.o. = $5.00/ 1 oz.
* Fir needle e.o. = $5.00/1 oz.
* Ginger e.o. = $5.00/1 oz.
* Lavender e.o. = $5.00/1 oz.
* Lemon e.o. = $3.50/1 oz.
* Lemon balm e.o. = $7.00/1 oz.
* Etc....

Anyone have know of any equally fabulous sources for supplies worth sharing?! :o)

Now, hold onto your pointy hats my fellow Witches, but by stark contrast, these same EOs are found from (in order) the following sources: Frontier Herb [an Iowa-based co. whose sdupplies you will find lining most herbal/ or occult supply stores throughout the Midwest]; Mountain Rose herb; and Isis Books and Gifts:

* Anise e.o. = $16.11/0.5 oz. | $5/1 oz. | $5.00/1 dram (1/8 oz.) or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Benzoin e.o. N/A | N/A | $5.00/1 dram or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Camphor e.o (White) = $6.19/0.5 oz. | $5.00/1 oz. | $5.00/1 dram or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Cassia bark e.o. = $7.49/0.5 oz. | N/A | $5.00/1 dram or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Cedarwood e.o. = $3.95/ 0.5 oz. | $9.00/1 oz. | $5.00/1 dram or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Cinnamon leaf e.o. = $7.20/0.33 oz. | $7.50/1 oz. | $5.00/1 dram or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Clove bud e.o. = $6.55/0.5 oz. | $10.00/1 oz. | $5.00/1 dram or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Cypress e.o. = $899/ 0.5 oz. | $22.00/1 oz. | $10.00/1 dram or $30.00/0.5 oz.
* Fir needle e.o. = $12.29/0.5 oz. | $7.00/1 oz. | $5.00/1 dram or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Ginger e.o. = $14.15/0.5 oz. | $18.00/1 oz. | $5.00/1 dram or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Lavender e.o. = $10.29/0.5 oz. | $5.50/1 oz. | $5.00/1 dram or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Lemon e.o. = $5.49/0.5 oz. | $9.00/1 oz. | $5.00/1 dram or $15.00/0.5 oz.
* Lemon balm e.o. = N/A | (as Melissa e.o.) $62.00/1 dram | $6.00/1 dram or $18.00/0.5

Codex Alimentarius the real threat to world health

Codex Alimentarius the real threat to world health

In January 2010' they shall attempt to take all our plants away from us' all herbs' vitamins and minerals are to be listed as prescription only medications'
That means no more online companies selling entheogenic plants' becasue even herbs the likes of garlic and vitamins the likes of Vit C shall be regulated and only available for purchase through government outlets'
This is against the constitutional rights of all peoples of earth'

Read on' standup and be counted' do something about this atrocicity'

More and more people are becoming concerned about the shady, secretive organization that is Codex Alimentarius - the thinly-veiled propaganda arm of the international pharmaceutical industry that does everything it can to promote industry objectives whilst limiting individual options to maintain health (which would diminish members profits).

Codex alimentarius is one of the major bodies behind the effort to limit access to nutritional products and information. Its motivation is not rocket science and neither is the source of its funding - money that somehow expected to return a profit to its members . . . Most of the information available regarding codex alimentarius refers to its role in the USA, but it is not a US-specific body. Far from it, Codex has wiggled its dirty little tentacles into just about every national or international body concerned with public health. Posing as a benefactor, it then uses its significant financial and political clout to do its masters bidding.

As you can read in the excellent article below, there is much to be concerned about when considering codex alimentarius - ignore it at your peril.

Codex Alimentarius - The Sinister Truth Behind Operation Cure-All
(From an original article by Ruth James)

What's really behind Operation Cure-All? Is it just the FDA and FTC taking their power too far? Or is there a deeper, more sinister purpose to this campaign? Who are Codex Alimentarius?

How could a country that prides itself in its freedom of speech, freedom of choice, and freedom of information be facing such severe restrictions in health freedom and dietary supplements? Haven't the people made their will known? Didn't our government pass the Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act of 1994 to insure our right to health supplements?

Indeed, our government did. But the FDA and FTC have found ways to get around that. The laws put in place to protect us are being ignored. And what's worse is that those laws are about to be superseded, if the powers that be have their way.

OPERATION CURE ALL IS JUST ONE MEANS TO AN END
You see, Operation Cure-All is just a tactic, a vehicle, in a much bigger overall plan. It is a result of "Codex Alimentarius" (meaning food code) -- a set of regulations that aim to outlaw any health information in connection with vitamins and limit free access to natural therapies on a worldwide scale.

WHAT'S BEHIND CODEX ALMENTARIUS?
Behind the Codex Alimentarius Commission is the United Nations and the World Health Organization working in conjunction with the multinational pharmaceutical cartel and international banks. Its initial efforts in the US with the FDA were defeated, so it found another ally in the FTC. Now Codex, with the FTC and the pharmaceutical cartel behind it, it threatens to become a trade issue, using the campaign of Operation Cure-All to advance its goals.

Codex began simply enough when the U.N. authorized the World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization to develop a universal food code. Their purpose was to 'harmonize' regulations for dietary supplements worldwide and set international safety standards for the purposes of increased trade. Pharmaceutical interests stepped in and began exerting their influence. Instead of focusing on food safety, Codex is using its power to promote worldwide restrictions on vitamins and food supplements, severely limiting their availability and dosages.

REAL GOALS OF CODEX
This is to bring about international 'harmonization.' While global harmony sounds benign, is that the real purpose of this plan? While the stated goal of Codex is to establish unilateral regulations for dietary supplements in every country, the actual goal is to outlaw health products and information on vitamins and dietary supplements, except those under their direct control. These regulations would supersede United States domestic laws without the American people's voice or vote in the matter.

HOW CAN IT BE POSSIBLE?
Americans gasp at the thought. It goes against everything America stands for. Many believe this can't be possible. The truth is, it's not only possible, it's required by the Codex Alimentarius agreement.
In fact, under the terms of the Uruguay Round of GATT, which created the World Trade Organization, the United States agreed to harmonize its domestic laws to the international standards. This includes standards for dietary supplements being developed by the United Nation's Codex Alimentarius Commission's Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Use.

The Uruguay Round Agreements carry explicit language clearly indicating that the U.S. must harmonize to international standards:

"Members are fully responsible under this Agreement for the observance of all provisions.... members shall formulate and implement positive measures and mechanisms in support of the observance of the provisions.... by other than central government bodies." [WTO TBT Agreement at Article 3.5]"

In other words, the federal government must NOT ONLY CHANGE FEDERAL LAW, but must ALSO require state and local governments to change their laws as well to be in accordance with international law.

Not only that, but Codex Alimentarius is now enforceable through the World Trade Organization (WTO). If a country disagrees with or refuses to follow Codex standards, the WTO applies pressure by withdrawing trade privileges and imposing crippling trade sanctions. Congress has already bowed to this pressure several times and so have the governments of many countries.

While the exemption clause (USC 3512(a)(1) and (a)(2) was created to supposedly protect our laws from harmonization to international standards, it has proven to be totally ineffective. The United States has already lost seven trade disputes despite the exemption clause. Due to the enormous pressures put on them by lobbyists from multinational corporations (who contribute millions to congressional campaigns), Congress bowed to pressure and changed U.S. laws.

It appears our government (as well as al others) is being manipulated one way or another to serve the goals of the UN, the World Health Organization and the World Trade Organization. Food control equals people control -- and population control. Is this beginning to sound like world government and one-world order? Could this be the real goal behind Codex Alimentarius?

The United States, Canada, the Europeans, Japan, most of Asia, and South America have already signed agreements pledging total harmonization of their laws including food and drug laws to these international standards in the future.

WHAT CODEX WILL BRING
What can we expect under Codex? To give you an idea, here are some important points:

* Dietary supplements could not be sold for preventive (prophylactic) or therapeutic use.
* Potencies would be limited to extremely low dosages. Only the drug companies and the big phytopharmaceutical companies would have the right to produce and sell the higher potency products (at inflated prices).
* Prescriptions would be required for anything above the extremely low doses allowed (such as 35 mg. on niacin).
* Common foods such as garlic and peppermint would be classified as drugs or a third category (neither food nor drugs) that only big pharmaceutical companies could regulate and sell. Any food with any therapeutic effect can be considered a drug, even benign everyday substances like water.
* Codex regulations for dietary supplements would become binding (escape clauses would be eliminated).
* All new dietary supplements would be banned unless they go through Codex testing and approval.
* Genetically altered food would be sold worldwide without labeling.

According to John Hammell, a legislative advocate and the founder of International Advocates for Health Freedom (IAHF), here is what we have to look forward to:

"If Codex Alimentarius has its way, then herbs, vitamins, minerals, homeopathic remedies, amino acids and other natural remedies you have taken for granted most of your life will be gone. The name of the game for Codex Alimentarius is to shift all remedies into the prescription category so they can be controlled exclusively by the medical monopoly and its bosses, the major pharmaceutical firms. Predictably, this scenario has been denied by both the Canadian Health Food Association and the Health Protection Branch of Canada (HPB).

The Codex Alimentarius proposals already exist as law in Norway and Germany where the entire health food industry has literally been taken over by the drug companies. In these countries, vitamin C above 200 mg is illegal as is vitamin E above 45 IU, vitamin B1 over 2.4 mg and so on. Shering-Plough, the Norway pharmaceutical giant, now controls an Echinacea tincture, which is being sold there as an over the counter drug at grossly inflated prices. The same is true of ginkgo and many other herbs, and only one government controlled pharmacy has the right to import supplements as medicines which they can sell to health food stores, convenience stores or pharmacies."

It is now a criminal offence in parts of Europe to sell herbs as foods. An agreement called EEC6565 equates selling herbs as foods to selling other illegal drugs. Action is being taken to accelerate other European countries into 'harmonization' as well.

Paul Hellyer in his book, "The Evil Empire," states: "Codex Alimentarius is supported by international banks and multinational corporations including some in Canada, and is in reality a bill of rights for these banks and the corporations they control. It will hand over our sovereign rights concerning who may or may not invest in our countries to an unelected world organization run by big business. The treaty would make it impossible for Canadian legislators either federal or provincial to alter or improve environmental standards for fear of being sued by multinational corporations whether operating in Canada or not.

This will create a world without borders ruled by a virtual dictatorship of the world's most powerful central banks and multinational companies. This world is an absolute certainty if we all sit on our hands and do nothing."

This is the future the FDA and FTC are striving to bring us via Codex harmonization. Is this a future we are going to willingly accept or prevent?

WHY TARGET THE INTERNET?
It is no accident that the FDA and FTC are targeting Internet health sites through Operation Cure-All. We are standing in the doorway of an unprecedented revolution -- the information revolution brought about by the Internet.

Now all people everywhere have the ability to learn about anything that interests them with just a few clicks. History has shown that informed, educated people change civilizations -- they change the flow of thought and they change the flow of money. They can even change the direction of a country. When similar transitions have happened in the past, the powers that existed did not give up willingly. The Catholic Church fiercely protected its practice of selling 'indulgences' as a forgiveness of sin. When the practice was abolished, the Catholic Church lost a great deal of power and money.

When the printing press was invented, books were banned and printers were imprisoned by the authorities, who feared an educated public could not be governed. In the same way, the medical monopoly (and the UN) now fears that a public educated in health and privy to the shortcomings of modern medicine could not be controlled. Loss of control means loss of revenue and loss of power. And they are doing everything they can to stop progress so they can contain their losses and strengthen their power.

The printing press changed the world. Can you imagine what life would be like today if the book banners had their way? But because the printing press won out, society progressed and freedom was embraced. The Internet is changing the world in an equally significant way. While the entire Internet can hardly be suppressed, the pharma-cartels and their backers are looking to protect their interests by restricting as much information as they can on the Internet.

Will we, the people, win out again -- or will the UN and the World Health Organization agenda and the pharmaceutical cartel change the course of history and take us back to the "dark ages" of medicine?

WHAT CAN WE DO?
Step number one is learn as much as possible about this issue. Here are some websites where you will find a great deal of information:

Signing petitions is fine, but not nearly as effective as writing to your congressmen and congresswomen. Write to them insisting we hold a PROPER Oversight Hearing on Codex. An oversight hearing was held in March, but the truth was not allowed to come out. Witness who could have exposed what was going on, and who wanted to testify, were denied the opportunity to testify. Congress is strongly resisting another Codex hearing, telling their constituents it is not necessary. This could not be further from the truth.

CTM Comment: Codex is of course the single most virulent assault on human freedoms in recent times. The desire to control of vitamins, minerals, herbs and other nutritional factors has ironically come about as a result of the inability of orthodox medicine to destroy the practice of the public practicing health without drugs. Now government and the chemical industry will seek to control and profit from that which was available directly to the public in times gone by.

Overturning the Codex by a mass public backlash is CTM’s sworn goal. This can be accomplished only with large numbers of the public all committed to this endeavor. As the above article states, the Internet itself has been able to grant access to information freely to anyone seeking it, and this has destabilized the flow of money and profits to institutions which have traditionally believed their highly lucrative monopolies to be safe.

As new plants are popping up I discovered one in particular that is growing everywhere. Doing some research on it I discovered that it is Chickweed. I have heard of people talking about this before but didnt pay too much attention. I try to focus on one herb at a time so as not to overwhelm myself. Now it is time for me to study this herb.
What is everyones experience with Chickweed?

I have experimented a lot with herbs for internal issues, but never really experienced much with herbal skin cures. What does everyone like to use?
I have this issue on my face in which the skin is discoloured. It gets redder in the cold and sometimes dry and flaky. I feel like I've tried everything, one dr prescriped cortisone, I have put vitamin e oil on it and also a salve made of comfrey, arnica, st johns wort and calendula. I have also tried going on a gluten free diet (which helped anxiety but not the skin so I have chosen to stay on the diet). Any help would be greatly appritiated.

We are a shop specialising in bulk herbs, teas and essential oils. As a "brick and mortar" store open since 2001 we have an extensive selection of hard to find herbs available in quantities as small as one ounce and in some cases even less. We also will try to locate anything we don't currently have as that is how our selection grows. We look forward to serving you and appologise in advance for the shameless self promotion.

I was wondering if anyone had any extra suggestions for a broken tooth. I had the whole back quarter of a premolar just break off due to a cavity that I didn't know about (luckily it isn't painful). I am going to the dentist to get it filled (not looking forward to that appt.), but not until Jan. 9. So the inside is exposed. I am taking echinacea and goldenseal to fight any infection and also with my normal routine I am using a mouthrinse I made with spilanthese, echinacea, propolis, red root and myrrh ess. oil. I am nervous to have to wait because I don't want it to get any worse than it already is. I am also trying to be careful with what I eat and how much I chew on that side so I don't get stuff lodged in that could make it worse. Any suggestions are much appreciated!
Blessings,

Any helpful herbal websites??

I'm searching for websites for good herbs. But i keep finding websites that are over priced on herbs and they are really mainstream sites. My friend told me to try to find a good Indian website that they sale the herbs in whole, like leaf and plants rather than already packed.

Anyone know of a good website? im searching but still cant find anything good.

thanks for the help.
Does anyone have a good magazine that they like? or know a good book, site by any chance?

Herbal Metal Polish?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone might know of (and be able to cite! *G*) any formulas they may be aware of for an herbal-based metal/silver polish. I have two pieces of metal: one a brass (I think!) compote bowl that I employ as a payton or libation vessel; and a silver electro-plate chalice which are both rather tarnished. Of course, I'd also like to use an herbal metal polish on my Athame, as well as my gardening tools, too! The only formula that I am aware of--but, I'd like to find some others!--is from Lesley Bremness's book, "The Complete Book of Herbs: A practical guide to growing and using herbs" [Viking/Studio, 1988]:

* 1 oz. horsetail herb [Equisetum arvense or E. hyemale], pressumibly the stems
* 2 1/2 Cups water

Soak horsetail in the water for at lkeast 2 hours; heat herb in water and simmer for at least 15 minutes; then strain. Soak metal objects in horsetail infusion for at least 5 minutes. remove objects and allow to dry, slowly. Buff or polish items with a soft cloth.

So, I have a bad case of the Hives, probably from stress and combination of things. After some research it is clear that I have physical form which is activated by the slightest change in temperature (hot or cold), and also were my clothing or perspiration irritates the skin. I am taking Prenizone after a visit to emergency, but it really isn't working well . . . antihistamines (lotions and pills) are working the best . . . at this point I have eliminated all questionable drugs, foods, stressers, etc. with little affect on the breakouts . . . when I finish the steroids in 2-3 days I want to switch back to more holistic methods of treatment . . . any suggestions?

I'm going to cross post this in order to get more responses.. so please be patient with me.

I would like information on hypothyroidism. I know what it is, but am interested in input on herbal remedies as to how to alleviate the symptoms, and balance out the thyroid itself.

There are polops on the thyroid as well and the thyroid is "lumpy"

My friend was diagnosed with this and I have recommended some things but need more input then what I've read on the net so far.

Thank you all for your information.

chronic UTI's

ive been getting them since childhood, more than a few times gotten so bad with the blood that i had to go to a doctor. its never reached my kidneys however.

im a vegan and try to eat organic, limit my sugar intake, not an alcoholic, dont drink coffee, don't smoke though i have been living with a tobacco smoker for 3 months.....so i dont know what it could be in my diet thats causing this.

i get a decent amount of exercise, slim build...

i think it may be connected with general anxiety, makes me think of the chinese medicine definition with too much yin....also my astrological chart seems to point toward an erratic health disorder, if anyones good with astrology i can share that info.

so yeah, im trying to look deeper and holistically figure out what this constant threat of getting a UTI is about.

if i dont drink plenty of water, it would come back, every single day. the burning starts sometimes even when i wake up if i didnt drink enough water the night before.

it would be wonderful to be able to live without this pain constantly trying to attack my nether regions.

I am 4 weeks pregnancy and have PCOS. My herbalist has prescribed me 5 drops of Vitex (3 x per day). She says that this will help keep up my progesterone levels. I had slowed down taking my herbs before I got pregnant because my cycle had begun to regulate due to a routine yoga program. I feel iffy about taking anything that will mess with my hormones, but want to be open to it because of my condition. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Victory Garden

Okay, so I can't wait for that Australian hunk, Jamie Dury, to rip off his shirt on The Victory Garden! LOL! But, this program has REALLY gone down hill, recently, despite the obvious eye-candy. *drool*

Now, I remember watching it during the weekends off from school with my Great Aunt Liz. Because my stepmom couldn't stand us being around her on the weekends while my Dad was at work she passed me and my brother off to Aunt Liz...and I didn't know about until after Liz passed, when Mom told me; though, I don't know why she couldn't stand us, because me and Jared were as quiet-as-quiet could be, yet we could apparently never be quiet enough. Sheesh, the woman slept till past noon everyday! We wouldn't even go upstairs--and even hated having to go to our own bathroom--for fear of creeking doors and waking her up. So, we stayed in our rooms, sometimes quite hungry, until she finally got out of bed to phone in dinner by throwing bologny onto a table with some bread and butter (she always looked like she was in a horrible mood when we finally poked our heads upstars). To this day I cannot stand to eat bologny, or even Hamburger Helper! But, I digress...

When me and Aunt Liz would watch The Victory garden, it was hostd by an older gentleman, and in it there were frequent recipes using herbs, and one was instructed HOW to grow herbs and plants, etc. In fact, the so-called "Victory Garden" was an actual garden CALLED "The Victory Garden" located in Maine! NOW, it's far different: they just examine other peoples gardens and show other plants, perhaps by offerings ideas, suggestions and inspiration. What the...??? Anyone miss the older formats of TVG (if you ever watched it)? Personally, as an Herbalist, I would *love* to see a series from this program going to gardens of herbalists, and even interviewing them, and showing one how to make medicines with herbs, and even more recipes, and how to grow herbs, etc.! Mom even commented, recently, that she liked it better when it had that ever-so-slightly rounded gay dude as the host.

Hewy guys, does anyone have any uber-delicious lavender cookie recipes that use the leaves? I have some provence lavender growing in my garden (which smells like cologne to me; far more "yummy" and arousing that the minty scent British Mumstead var...which is also why I plan on making an oil-based infusion and tincture out of the leaves when my lavender gets nice an' big!).

Hello Friends,

For two weeks now I have been suffering from an acute migraine at the back of my head. I went into hospital for tests and a CAT scan which thankfully didn't show up anything sinister (and reassured me that I actually have a brain! LOL).
However, they couldn't do anything about the pain. They gave me 2 different types of painkiller, one of which worsened the problem and had me being sick all day. A friend on Tribe suggested Turmeric, which has lessened the pain, but hasn't got rid of it.

Any tips or suggestions would be helpful, as I can't take much more of this permanent migraine.

Thank you and blessings to you all, Michy

Herbs for Weight Loss?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone here, could recommend any traditional, or even medically/scientifically variefied herbs, that can aid one in weight loss; or any herbs that help to support the natural metabolism, and perhaps ensure hat it's working at its optimal level? Even herbs that aid in the supression of cortisol (the fat-inducing stress hormone) would be interesting. I've not read about such herbs, save for a very peripheral treatment, in any of my books at hand. So, if anyone lists any herbs that they know of, please cite your sources! (I'd love to hunt them down and add 'em to my own personal Library!) Though, two herbs that I routinely see cited for weight loss (but not WHY) are dandelion and chickweed.

Take Care,
Wade MacMorrighan

I notice that whenever I laugh too much that I start to cough. Obviously I am not getting everything coughed up whenever I get a cold. Sorry if the post seems ignorant. I've only just begun to delve into this field & am totally oblivious. Thx- Roz

Pantry moths / essential oils?

I moved into an apt which has a pantry moth infestation. I am moving out and do not want to take them with me. I am very dilligent about this kind of thing and have never had to deal with this before. I have eliminated any obvious food source, stored everything else in the freezer and am certain they are coming in through the owner's side, who do not really deal with them. This kind of moth eats your food and doesn't care about cedar. I need something to use as a deterrent and heard bay leaves are the old remedy. Has anyone tried bay leaf essential oil? how about eucalyptus? I am trying *so hard* to catch and not to kill them, but I am catching, like, a dozen every day. thanks :)

me as case study in excema, histamine response and what else?

i get excema on my lips. a few times it has really gotten out of control - swollen, oozing yellow goop, wide red area around. this is what has been happening for me.

i also got poison oak on my neck and face at the same time.

it seemed to be clearing up and then i got a sunburn and it got bad again.

at times my throat glands have been quite swollen. that makes sense. and probably i have had a low grade fever.

i am puzzled that my thyroid seems swollen.

now it seems to be passing -- but my skin is dry, flakey, very itchy, red, and still swollen. the patches of excema and poison oak are not really visible. I have alot of thirst - probably drinking more water than i ever have. and i am peeing alot in the night.

the other thing that happened is a year ago i got bitten by a tick and the spot on my neck where i was bitten was red when this all started.

i am curious what has been going on with my body and if other people have insight?

as far as topical salves and ointments - they have not been helpful. a good oil balm, with no herbs was good.
i have been drinking licorice tea but if it were effective- i would have needed to make it far stronger than i have (eg. an hour of brewing didn't really do anything, maybe 10 hours would do it)

a steroid cream did help, but not at the beginning.

once i got a steroid shot and that really helped, but i have not gone that route this time.

to me, it seems like my histamines are out of whack. it is worse at night. the worst night was the day after the sunburn and my whole body was on fire internally. exercise is relieving - and i think this is partly that the fight or flight is helpful.

Does anyone have any interesting experience with this? What herbs did you take and what happened? I'm trying Oil of Oregano, garlic and Olive Leaf, and am waiting for my Clarkia to come in the mail. Nothing's happened with the former herbs, we'll see about the Clarkia.

Choosing a Health Care Practitioner

Greetings. This came to mind from another thread. I wanted to start a dialogue about choosing a health care practitioner. I wanted to see how others do this. I personally like to interview the person, get a sense of what their background is, ask them questions about their experience, about who they collaborate with etc. I believe it is my right and responsibility to choose the health care practiioner of my choice.

Throughout the world there are trends to eliminate through licensure and legislation as well heresy to eliminate traditional health care practitioners. I feel sad and unsettled by this, as it has the capacity to create a monocultured health care system. Even many natural health care providers are tending to be encapusulated into a western pharmaceutical framework of practice and personally I would like more diverse health care options.

How do you choose a health care practitioner? How do you feel about freedom of choice in health care?
Blessings
Linda

want to distill some mint and lavender?

I've got a huge trashbag of freshly harvested mint. The lavender will be ready in about 3 weeks.

Is anyone interested in making essential oils? Has a distiller and wants to split the harvest?

The best massage oil I've ever had was from these ingredients and homemade.

I think it would be fun to do this not only for the oil, but just learning to do something new and interesting.

I can do this during the week or a weekend before Memorial day. I have a super sweet place to do this with lots of wildlife around.... Just like going camping.... except I live here!

PM me for details.

desperate HELP for postpartum

Hi, I have recently had my baby 3 months ago and I am now suffering greatly from postpartum depression, sweating, dryness, you name it. I have been extremely down but I am started having cycles again about 6 weeks pp. They have been fairly regular, but it seems the symptoms aren't going away. I thought when my period returns I wouldn't have so many problems. I feel like I cannot be a whole, healthy mother for my beautiful baby right now. I need help. Today i visited my acupuncturists and because we are in CA, he cannot prescribe herbs to me because I am still Breastfeeding and because of liability issues. HELP! What kinds of herbs can I take during pregnancy? I used to take Zhi Bo Di Huang Wan and Zi Shen Yu Tai Wan and another Chinese herbal combo called Happy days, all from treasure of the East. My Acu said that my Kidney yin was 100%, but Kidney Yan, only 30%. he also said my adrenal was down. I want to order these herbs online, but I don't know which ones are safe to use during breastfeeding. My acu can't tell i am so desperate for help, I would appreciate any help, thank you.

p.s. I also have low milk supply (especially around menstruation) in lactation and I find Mother's Milk tea help just a little.

Improper "Big Pharma" Influence in Medicine is VERIFIED!

Improper "Big Pharma" Influence in Medicine is VERIFIED!
This is a BIG step in the right direction for health care in the USA! It has been no secret, but no one was talking about it since the monetary benefits that many doctors are receiving from these companies made this unlikely. I mean - if you were the type to only care about money (which is why many become doctors in the first place), wouldn't you want a free trip to Cancun by putting other people on basically unproven and even harmful chemical substances?

Catherine D. De Angelis, MD, MPH and Phil B. Fontanarosa, MD, MBA have submitted this timely (and likely unwelcome) article into the April 16, 2008 edition of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), entitled "Impugning the Integrity of Medical Science - the Adverse Effects of Industry Influence."

What is even more awesome is that this was broadcast on the same day on the morning edition of Talk Radio's "Paul Harvey" show, so this information has come to the attention of many Americans today!

I am happy to see that some doctors do in fact have some integrity. This may also be an opening for safer alternative methods to be approved by the AMA for doctors to use and not feel like they will have their medical licensing taken away if they recommend a proven herbal remedy (as an example) instead of the new designer drugs of the day. I hope this allows them the courage to step forward now that the door has been opened!

We can help by showing this to our medical providers (if you have those) this article, and telling them about this, they can maybe take additional steps as doctors to become more able to practice alternative and natural techniques without risking their careers. Also, tell your friends in any way you can, so that they can demand alternative therapies be implemented or they will go elsewhere now that this article ought to free up other practitioners to use these methods. This also provides some validation for Alternative practitioners who have known about these dangers all along. Health care freedom (and responsibility) is up to all of us - please spread the message!

Hi Everyone in this tribe. I really need help and advice.

My grandpa passed away and I need to fly out to attend the services TONIGHT. Though now my son is having a runny nose and sneezing alot. He sounds very congested. At the same time I need to bring him with me on the plane but am worried his ears will have much discomfort and pain, especailly since he already experiences pressure build up on planes even when he is well.

Does anyone know of anything I can give him to help stop the runny nose and ear pressure so he can fly comfortablly?

Thank you for your support.

Blessings..
His sister (36) has diabetes 2 and my father had diabetes 1 and died at the age of 51! My dad always said it would come out in his grandchildren - He now has 6 and he only got to meet one of them!

Someone told me cinamon is good but I am yet to find out how it needs to be taken and how often and what it does?

Thanks in advance ...

Any help appreciated

aloha great people,

I am just now recovering from nearly five days of being severely ill with what I originally thought was food poisoning. Turns out that something very similar to what I've had has been going around, so perhaps it wasn't something I picked up from not washing a strawberry. Be aware, friends, and wash your hands more than normal. It's a nasty one...

Anywho, I basically went for 3 days without eating anything but a pear and a piece of toast and a lot of water. My stomach is obviously pretty tender and I'm wondering if any of you have experience in restoring digestive balance with herbs. I am doing acidopholis but it seems like there is another medicine from the plant world that my body is asking for. Anyone have any ideas?

I think I will start with a huuuuuge pot of nettle tea.

happy spring to y'all...

Homemade Shaving Cream?

Hey guys, I just bought and planted some lavender from Provence, France, today (I chickened out of growing it from seed!). Anyway, when it's ready to harvest in a couple months, I'd like to infuse it in order to make some use of it. Hence, because my brother's birthday is in June, as is Father's Day, I would love to make both he and my dad some lavender shaving cream this June! Anyone got any shaving cream formulas that the men in your lives seem to especially love?! ;o)

Take Care,
Wade

Advice for Headaches during cleanse/detox

Hello wise-peeps. I just started a cleanse/detox, using a formula-kit by Michael's Naturopathic. A little background: I am an avid coffee drinker...have been for years. Over the past year, I have been through an incredibly difficult emotional ride...long story short, broke up with my partner and I moved out with our young son. I have variable issues with chronic pain in my upper back/headaches/joint pain. I have had great success with homeopathy (see a homeopath regularly), and I also have a great chiropractor/cranial sacral genie. I typically eat quite well, green veggies and good proteins often, but I do have a sugar habit.
After the holidays, my birthday, work, etc, I was drinking a lot of coffee... and it has kinda stopped working. This weekend, it hit me. I'm tired all the time even with 11 hours sleep, I hurt a lot, my skin is bad, dark circles are bad, and my energy is kaput.
So, the cleanse. Trouble is, I can't quit caffeine cold-turkey. Today, I waited until noon...and I gave in because the headache was pretty bad. I expect the detox will make everything hurt temporarily, but damn. This sucks.
I don't want to quit coffee forever...it's one of my remaining pleasures! But I do need to back-off for the next few weeks.
Advice? Herbs I can take concurrently? Is it "ok" to have one small cuppajava a day during a cleanse? I know, it's not ideal...but the headache has got to go. I'm going to make some Oatstraw infusion, just to assist the flushing, but what else will help?
Any tips greatly appreciated. Thank you!
