The last couple months Ive had this problem that seems to progressively get worse
After I eat it seems as if i immediately crash, get tired, need a nap
If i nap ill sleep for like 2 hours.
I already eat small meals periodically through the day
i avoid sugar
Since the new year i stopped eating meat unless i cook it at home and is free range/organic
[which is not very often] But i still get lots of protein
Any suggestions? supplements that could help? lack of iron?

Re: Maybe You Can Help
Wed, May 28, 2008 - 9:01 PMAre you eating enough for breakfast? Sometimes when you dont eat enough your body goes into hunter mode, and once it finds food goes into fat storage and minimum energy expenditure mode. Dont let your blood sugar get too low during the day and you might have less of a food grog after you eat. -

Re: Maybe You Can Help
Thu, May 29, 2008 - 5:10 PMYou've had your blood sugar tested? Sounds like a low/spike/low again that I associate w/ hypoglycemia. I have it and when I began removing refined sugars & flour I had lots of feelings of low blood sugar but tested fine. It seems to get better the longer I've been off the refined stuff.

Re: Maybe You Can Help
Sat, May 31, 2008 - 3:23 PMBreakfast should be the biggest meal of the day. Small meals are good, but I've found it's better to eat a large breakfast with all the foodgroups, then divide lunch and dinner up into the small meals. Also, make sure at each meal you're eating a combination of fiber and protein, with a bit of heart-healthy fat.

Re: Maybe You Can Help
Fri, May 30, 2008 - 1:35 PMYou might also check your sleep. If your not getting sound solid 8-9 hrs of sleep then you may be sleep deprived. Also check for sleep apnea (skinny people have it too) as sleep apnea produces exactly the same type of symptoms.

Good luck,

Re: Maybe You Can Help
Fri, May 30, 2008 - 4:50 PMyes thanks for all your help.
i have had my blood sugar tested, but not in a long time
Ive always had symptoms of being Hypo thats why i eat small meals regularly.
I try to stay away from refined stuff but its hard here, no good groceries around and the city is way to expensive and then i had to carry it all back from NYC to Jersey City, where i live at the moment.
Ive had a REAL hard time sleeping, very lucid dreams and wake up every 2 hours, cannot figure that one out either.... Im sure they are all interconnected, and I have been trying to change 1 thing at a time but nothing has seemed to work.

Re: Maybe You Can Help
Sat, May 31, 2008 - 3:18 PMYou have no proof that lack of meat is her problem, and she said she she eats meat sometimes.
My advice would be to get tested for nutritional deficiencies. -

Re: Maybe You Can Help
Mon, June 2, 2008 - 5:35 PMmaybe try a b complex vit supplement. good for energy levels.
if you're napping that could contribute to your disrutption in sleep (though it's kinda a chicken or egg thing here). try to keep yourself awake, as hard as it may be and go to bed earlier. take a bath, drink some tea, put a lavendar satchel under or by your pillow.
