As new plants are popping up I discovered one in particular that is growing everywhere. Doing some research on it I discovered that it is Chickweed. I have heard of people talking about this before but didnt pay too much attention. I try to focus on one herb at a time so as not to overwhelm myself. Now it is time for me to study this herb.
What is everyones experience with Chickweed?

I love chickweed!! Honestly i love to just sit in a patch and graze..it is so yummy...my body feels super pleased with me afterwards. I also add it to salads and will even put it in a smoothie. Chickweed is very mineral rich....nourishing for sure!

I love chickweed too.. it taste "green" its so full of chlorpyll that the body just goes... ummmmmmmm yummy.. Its excellent.. I tried to replant it but it didn't take.. so now I go around the neighborhood and graze.. After around 8+ years ppl don't look at me so funny and the neighbors have learned not to spray their yards and also to explain to newbies what I'm doing..

I ask ppl.. "wanna come graze with me? " I've had some takers over the years and some ppl still graze with me.. Its so much fun...

          sweet.
I made a dandelion, chickweed, and miners lettuce salad yesterday with a vinaigrette made from rice wine vinegar, sesame seed oil, sesame seeds, ginger, and pomegranate juice.

I'm envious. We stil have snow on the ground so nothing is coming up yet.. I already told my neighbor that when spring is here, not just on the calendar..lol but the plants figure out its spring, then I'm going to raid her yard for chickweed..

She laughed.. said come on over.. lol

I don't remember Chickweed too well. From what I am reading on Horizon Herbs, sounds quite tasty.

mmmm...stellaria media. such a sweet maiden weed, so cooling to my body on a warm day, she loves to be in a moist and cool place and will last all summer this way, and all winter in a cold frame. i also add to salads, or make a yummy vinegar, grazing is by far my favorite way to enjoy her. the tincture is use to move lymph and to aid in releasing ovarian cysts.

Umm thank you for trying. Gives me a reason to "experiment." yea!! I love experimenting.. lol sometimes it works out and tastes great.. and then there are the times when..........well the garbage can is handy.. lol (for those lovely occasions when 2 or more things should have never met in the same bowl)
