hey y'all
I've been wanting to use fruit in my hand lotions and lip balms, and I'm having a terrible time finding information on how to process the fruit. Can I just squeeze them, and then put the juice in my mixture? does it end up rotting if I do that?
sooo what is the prescribed method?
thanks :)

Re: fruit
Sun, March 2, 2008 - 3:12 PMHmmm, I would be careful about the fruit. If you use citrus, try using the essential oils, which are relatively inexpensive and you don't need much, and they are also a preservative (vitamin C) hehehe! As for other fruits, I would be rather curious, since I believe most fruit-types on the market are artificially created. I will read this thread later to see what anyone else finds! -

Re: fruit
Fri, March 14, 2008 - 10:04 AMI read somewhere that you can put a little fruit juice into lotion, but that the lotion needs to be kept refrigerated so that it doesn't go bad. I remember that papaya juice is good for dry skin and that cucumber juice is good for itchy skin.
I haven't tried this so I'm not sure if it works, but it could be worth a try.
