I've heard different stories regarding the effects of fennel on female hormones: some say it balances them, others say it might throw them out of whack. Can anyone shed light on the subject? Thanks and blessings.

Re: Fennel and hormones
Fri, March 13, 2009 - 10:21 PMIm not sure if its just licorice or also fennel, but it contains a really weak phytoestrogen that will bind to the same sites without exerting as much of an influence. So if you already have lots of estrogen it will reduce the effects of estrogen, but if you have too little it will slightly enhance it.
If you want a stronger phytoestrogen, try maria purifica.
